Hanover College faculty are expected to engage in continued scholarly and creative endeavors. Intellectual vitality and the ongoing practice of learning are central to the development of faculty members.

Scholarship and creative activities take many forms at Hanover College; therefore, worthwhile scholarly activities may include tangible products such as books, scholarly journal articles, manuals, exhibits, performances, or recitals. In general, faculty should pursue ongoing scholarly conversations within a community of academic and professional peers to expand knowledge and skills we exemplify for our students.

"...whether our scholarly pursuits are directed toward more or less tangible results, as members of a scholarly community we need to be able to explain to each other the significance of the questions or problems that we pursue, the methods that we use to pursue them, and the content and implications of our conclusions."
