Areas of Competency and Engagement (ACEs)

Writing

Are you teaching a course designated as Writing 1 or Writing 2? Dominique Battles is our Writing curriculum coordinator. Check out this helpful website with best practice guides and resources. 

Speaking

The Speaking curricular co-coordinators, Bill Bettler and Rachel Davidson, have a Moodle page for all Speaking Across the Curriculum instructors with sample assignments, grade rubrics, and information about different forms of speaking. 

Cultural Perspectives

The co-coordinators of Cultural Perspective courses are Katy Hadley and Sara Patterson.

Core Curriculum Requirements (CCRs)

Literary and Artistic Perspectives (LA): 2 units, different disciplines

Historical and Social Perspectives (HS): 2 units, different disciplines

Philosophical and Religious Perspectives (PP and RP): 1 unit PP and 1 unit RP

Scientific, Mathematical, and Algorithmic Methods (SM and SL): 3 units, different disciplines, at least 1 SL

World Languages (WL): 2 course sequence (2 units)

Health and Fitness Applied (AF): 2 activity classes (.25 unit each)
