Teaching Grants
The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) program is once again offering a $500 stipend to any part-time or full-time Hanover College faculty member to participate in a course re-design program to investigate available open educational resources. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for each semester. Learn more here! One award per semester. Redesign Grant Applications are open for 2024/25 academic year. Receive a $500 stipend for converting a course to zero-cost materials. Please see the
- Open Pedagogy Assignment Grant. Redesign or create an open pedagogy assignment for a course and get a $400 grant plus PALNI education and support for open education resources.
Ready to review open source course materials in your discipline? Receive a $200 PALNI stipend for your review of an open source textbook. Instructions available on the PALSave website.
Early Career Faculty Funding
The Nielsen Center for the Liberal Arts at Eckerd College hosts a series of workshops geared towards faculty in their first few years of teaching at a small liberal arts college - preference for faculty within TEN years of getting a terminal degree. Internal Funding: Professional Development Funding for Faculty
Faculty have access to funding to support travel related to professional development. See the Faculty Manual for descriptions.
The Faculty Development Committee solicits applications for major and minor grants to support undergraduate teaching and scholarship, plus Petticrew instructional technology grant applications annually on October 15, February 1, and May 1.
Active participation in a professional meeting qualifies undergraduate faculty for 1 supplemental travel award per academic year. Faculty Manual description.

The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) provides conferences, seminars, grants, and programming for independent colleges and universities. Hanover College is a member institution, allowing our employees to apply for and attend a variety of professional development and leadership programs.
