The Committee on Assessment of Teaching and Learning supports the collection and analysis of assessment data to guide adaptations at the departmental/institutional level for improved student learning outcomes.
The Committee acts as an advocate for raising standards of learning and for supporting reflective teaching.
Membership:
* Eight appointed Continuing Undergraduate Faculty with representation of all Core Curriculum categories.
* Two (2) students
* Instructional Technologist, ex-officio
* Associate Provost for Assessment, ex-officio
Responsibilities:
The Committee supports the work of the Associate Provost for Assessment as follows:
* Makes an initial review and provides general feedback to the Associate Provost for Assessment on departmental assessment reports.
* Inventories and maintains access to the following documents:1) annual departmental assessment reports 1) departmental learning objectives, 3) assessment schedules
* Reviews and suggests improvements to the annual assessment process and to the Academic Program Assessment Plan document. Brings those suggested revisions to the faculty as motions for faculty action.
* Reviews and assists in the process of assessing the general education curriculum.
